World Suicide Prevention Day

This post may not be earth-shattering, but it is straight from my heart.

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day, so I thought I’d write a short piece about dying by suicide.

I know first-hand how hard and exhausting working on DID issues are and the depression and anxiety that often come with it. The trauma and drama that occur during the healing process are enough to drive anyone insane.

DID hurts.

DID stings

DID is sometimes frightening

DID is isolating

Today, you might feel that you are alone, and no one could possibly understand. But I do as do millions of others.

If you are in so much pain that you are thinking of ending your life, please call 911 or 988 to get help. You are so valuable to the world that losing you would be a horrible tragedy.

You are worthwhile

You are precious

You are the only you in the universe

I almost died by suicide in 1995 and I am so glad I didn’t. The pain and depression did finally lift. I struggled for many years until finally, the sun broke through the depression clouds that had overshadowed me since childhood.

My life isn’t perfect or without its share of pain, but I can now face it head-on and am grateful for my past battles.

Please remember, on this solemn day, that someone out here cares for you, and it’s me. I think about my readers a lot and hope they will do well. I care deeply for you.
